Students take responsibility for their own spiritual education in the Refuge, therefore a broad range of available topics give students the opportunity to pursue their areas of interest. The camp write-ups include materials that were covered, as well as some related possibilities that might be addressed in a replication done with other students.

An optional 24 hour experience was provided through accommodations with grandparents. Whether day-camp or extended, communications with guardians are important, in order to expand the observational dimension to include applications outside the Refuge.

All Refuge topics/meditations are founded upon sacred guidance. This camp was built on the Hidden Word:

Two students, ages nine and eleven, were provided with a five-day camp experience, from 10:00 AM through 4:00 PM each day. Intensity of students’ responses are made on three dimensions:

  • Emotional reaction (E)
  • Initial follow-up response (I)
  • Application in daily life (A)

Ratings are 1 – 3, with 3 being the strongest response.  Anecdotal observations are also recorded.
